THE PEARL NECKLACE
Kissed by the turquoise waters of the Arabian Sea.
Pristine white sands caressed by the cool sea breeze.
Clad in a dazzling cyan coat, she reigns supreme
‘Tis the land where your soul is free and at ease.
Nestled amid a heavenly orchard of coconut palms,
Just a mere sight is enough to capture your hearts.
Enveloping your senses in an aura of idyllic calm,
She lets you escape the cacophony of civilization.
Blessed with exotic coral reefs lining the shores,
Truly, a pearl necklace adorning the Indian Ocean.
Each atoll has its own beautiful story to tell,
That is sure to evoke every pleasant emotion.
Suffused with the intoxicating aroma of smoked tuna,
The fresh, salty air exudes pure, tranquil bliss.
Feel the divine vibrations of the azaan’s call,
As your cheeks feel the tropical sun’s kiss.
Be it a bowl of garudhiya or some kulhi boakibaa,
Let your tastebuds indulge in the catch of the day.
Immerse your feet and unwind under the azure sky,
As the soft swishes of the waves take you away.
Enticing the wanderlust of nomads from near and afar.
Sweet memories are all what one takes when one leaves.
Perhaps, God created her, inspired by His own abode.
Heaven on Earth, thy name is the Maldives.
