Soneva Fushi Island Resort is a real desert island getaway. Located in the Baa Atoll, a Biosphere UNESCO protected coral reef and just 35 minutes by seaplane from Male. It is one of the largest islands, so you never feel crowded, it’s ideal for a romantic getaway.
With only 55 villas you really do get your privacy here on this island. their philosophy is simple, no news, no shoes. There are no pretensions either. There are a range of villas, from the 1 bedroom Crusoe villas, up to a 4 bedroom jungle reserve, with it’s own pool.
Soneva Fushi Island Resort has 4 restaurants, including Nine, where you can eat food crafted around nine different methods of cooking: steaming, poaching, roasting, braising, baking, grilling, stir-frying, pot cooking and pit cooking. There are 2 bars and a wine cellar, Before your dinner, you can descend down to the subterranean wine cellar and see the collection of 7,000 bottles and choose your evening’s drink. There are also wine tasting sessions throughout the week.
You can take a cycle around the island, or watch a movie in Cinema Paradiso, count Saturn’s rings in the Observatory, this island will keep you busy, but not to busy, it maybe that the most difficult decision you have to make is to decide between 60 flavours of ice cream.
Trips include a dolphin watching cruise, a sunrise breakfast on a private island, castaway picnic or an astronomical dinner cruise.
There are plenty of diving sites around Soneva Fushi Island Resort, professional dive instructors can guide you to over 30 amazing dive sites with visibility of up to 35 metres. From June to November you will have the chance to dive in some of the best spots in the world for seeing the graceful manta rays. And with some luck you may see whale sharks. If you don’t dive then snorkeling is a must do. There is a wonderful underwater world to discover and Soneva Fushi Island Resort has an truly excellent house reef. At anytime throughout your stay, you are welcome to borrow the complimentary masks and fins and explore the magic of the house reef. For adventures a bit further afield, the resident marine biologist will be happy to guide you to some unforgettable snorkeling spots in the Baa Atoll.

Children are welcome and very well looked after, with a kids club to keep them busy, whilst you can lie back and relax. The Den is a playground for their imagination. Children can explore a pirate ship, there are 2 swimming pools, a children’s mocktail bar, a lego room, a dressing up area, a cinema, a library, a learning area, a soundproof music room filled with all kinds of instruments, and the Tunnel. A 14 metre channel clad in roots, branches and hidden surprises, leading children out to organic gardens filled with flowers, swings and nests tucked into the trees. For teens there is the exciting zip wire through the jungle and the DJ corner, just for them.
