Kurumba Island Maldives has 8 restaurants and 3 three bars, so you are spoilt for choice. There is a restaurant for every night of the week and the quality is excellent. The main restaurant is Vihamana, which serves up a variety of buffet dishes from hearty Italian to fiery curries. Of the six speciality restaurants, Al Qasr (‘the Palace’) certainly lives up to its name with decadent surrounds and delicious Middle Eastern flavours. Hamakaze is a Teppanyaki delight, Mahal is the place for amazing Indian dishes and King Thai is perfect for Thai food. Then there is Thila, which extends out over the Ifarden villa, with its own pool and Isola serves contemporary Italian cuisine. There are 2 pools, 2 children’s pools, built for fun, spa, fitness centre, tennis courts, water-sports, and Majaa recreation centre with daily activities programme and nightly live entertainment. If diving is for you, or you want to learn there are expertly led courses and tours . Many of the best dive sites are within a 5 to 30 minute boat trip away. The include Banana Reef and Manta Point, wreck dives and some of the most exciting drift dives in the Maldives. The dive centre is fully equipped with state of the art equipment and nitrox.
The island lagoon is surrounded by wave breakers, which reduce waves and currents making it ideal for snorkeling. See all types of colourful fish, and if you’re lucky a ray or a turtle.
There is the Maaja Kids’ club in a spacious recreation centre, for 4 to 13 year olds. There are a range of activities including Wii video games. There is also a small outdoor play area for them. They can have snorkeling lessons, sunset and dolphin cruise and go out in a glass bottom boat. A baby sitting service is available on request.
There is a Teens Club to keep older children occupied. With something new and different on the schedule every day. These include Games, excursions, tennis, Wii and Playstation games, yoga, Tai Chi, pool table and cinema nights to name a few.
