All Inclusive Maldives Holiday
Should you choose to upgrade to an All Inclusive Maldives holiday? Choosing an All Inclusive Maldives holiday and paying upfront, cost can add quite a lot to the cost of your holiday, so the question to ask is “is it worth upgrading to an All Inclusive Maldives holiday?”
The best thing that going All Inclusive offers is peace of mind. There are no extra charges for food and drink, you can still choose to add the odd a la carte meal or some very specific cocktails. It’s nice not having to worry if you’re going to be running out of money at the end of the week, or worse to get a really big bill at the end of the holiday. At most islands the staff just take your room number and you get the bill at the end of your stay and it can be a shock.
As to whether you would spend the extra amount to upgrade to an All Inclusive Maldives holiday, on food and drink will depend on the type of holiday maker you are, but as you’re on holiday perhaps you are likely to eat and drink more than you usually would. If you drink a fair amount it is well worth going all inclusive to avoid the surprise of the drinks bill at the end. Equally, if you do not drink, you may want to consider Half Board or Full board, otherwise you are paying a lot for alcohol you will not be drinking. Although remember even soft drinks can add up.
Each resort will have a number of restaurants and bars for you to eat or drink in. There is no other choice, so the cost of your food and drink can be very expensive. The Maldives are a Muslim country, no alcohol is produced there, and all imported alcohol is heavily taxed. It is not unusual to be charged $5 for a coke and $70 for a bottle of wine. Then you need to remember that everything has a 10% service charge and 6% tax added. It’s not to difficult to see that choosing an All Inclusive Maldives holiday can save you money in the end.
Please DO NOT be tempted to take Alcohol with you on the flights. Import of alcohol is strictly banned, and if you are caught you may spend your holiday in a police cell and that isn’t the All Inclusive Maldives holiday you were hoping for.
